Reflection on College paper
In this assignment, we had know and understand a current drug issue going on in our society. I chose to do mine on "Drug Trafficking in Utah". In order to pick a topic, I did a little research to see what was a big drug issue going on. In this essay, I tried to focus on the certain drug gangs in Utah and how they move drugs in and out of the state. I found out that the Belizean Blood gang was just busted in Salt Lake City County area. It was one of the biggest drug busts that the Federal Government has had. The Local, State, and Federal Governments all worked together as a team to catch this gang. The Belizean Drug gang was operating all the way from New York, to California and somehow seemed to stay under the radar until Nov, 2011. The authorities busted the main drug-ring leader and was able to arrest 11 different people just in Utah. I find it amazing that this gang was able to stay under the radar for so long, and when the police authorities worked together they ended up catching these criminals. I am very glad that I got handed this assignment because I was able to understand more about street gangs and how they operate to stay functioning.
